Back in 2016, my wife and I were expecting our fourth child, Malix, whom we discovered pre-birth would likely be born with Down Syndrome and a significant heart defect. Preparing for an extended hospital stay and multiple surgeries for our baby, my wife had to take a leave from work. To support our family, I began to break sports cards as a secondary job. As they say, the rest is history. Today, Malix is a thriving 7-year-old who, despite having Down Syndrome, never lets anything limit him.

An unforgettable moment for me was pulling a 2018 Allen & Ginter, Champ Pederson Auto. At the time, Malix was not even 2 years old. Seeing Champ Pederson, who also has Down Syndrome, have autos in Ginter completely transformed my perspective as Malix's father. It's possibly the only time I've cried from pulling a card, which I then bought from the collector and now cherish as a part of my personal collection.
