What to Chase in 2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball
2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball is a special version of the regular Topps Chrome. Not only is it available in much smaller quantities, but Sapphire comes with a different look and a more condensed checklist.
The most noticeable difference is the background. Rather than the metal look of standard Chrome, Sapphire cards have a patterned backdrop. Base versions also use blue as their main color, although this changes with its handful of parallels.
Here are some of the Sapphire gems to be watching for:
Top Rookies
The 2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball base set has 50 rookie cards, all falling at the end of the checklist. It includes all of this year’s first-year standouts like Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, VJ Edgecombe and Dylan Harper.
With such a deep list, it’s possible that a couple of sleepers could emerge in the months and years ahead.
Bright Rainbows
All parallels in 2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball are numbered /50 or less. Not only are the print runs smaller but so are the options.
Each of the 300 base cards has a rainbow consisting of just six colors:
Total up all the parallels and there are just 106 total for each player combined.
Infinite Sapphire
Just two standard inserts are possible in Sapphire Basketball packs. Infinite Sapphire has become a staple for the brand in recent years. At 1:160 packs, they’re approximately one every other case. So, tougher than a case hit.
Sapphire Selections
Sapphire Selections is the other exclusive insert set. The 20-card checklist is all rookies.
Base versions fall 1:11 packs with Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and Superfractor (1/1) parallels also available.
Autographs
Every 2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball box guarantees one autograph. These come in several forms:
Between these six sets is a mix of rookies like Flagg and Knueppel, current stars such as Victor Wembanyama, LeBron James and Stephen Curry, and legends Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. It’s a checklist that spans generations.
