2025 Donruss Optic Football takes the fun and variety of the flagship Donruss release and makes it shine.

Following in the footsteps of Prizm, it’s another chrome-style release that has a lot of color, nods to hobby history and flashy inserts. 

Similar to Prizm, Donruss Optic has a variety of pack and box types spread across hobby and retail. This opens things up to lots of exclusives, especially when it comes to parallels.

What to Chase in 2025 Donruss Optic Football

Rated Rookies

While they might not be the most valuable rookie cards, Donruss Optic combines a subset steeped in history with a modern chromium twist.

Debuting in 1984 Donruss Baseball, Rated Rookies became synonymous with highlighting first-year standouts. Over the last decade, Panini has pushed the name to new heights, making it recognizable with a new generation of collectors. 

For those looking for affordable rookie cards of Jaxson Dart, Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Ashton Jeanty and the rest of the 2025 draft class, 2025 Donruss Optic Football is one of the top options.

Parallel Rainbows

Like all things chrome, 2025 Donruss Optic Football has a lot of parallels. For player collectors, this means an extensive rainbow filled with not just colors but some background patterns as well. 

Hobby boxes come with a dozen total parallels. Of those, nine are serial numbered. More than a dozen exclusives are possible in these boxes including Ice, Black Pandora and Gold Vinyl, which use a similar backdrop as Superfractors.

Other configurations have their own exclusives like Blue Scope in hobby blasters and Red Hyper in hobby mega boxes. H2 boxes have multiple Mojo-patterned parallels.

Downtown

Downtown are some of the most popular and recognized inserts in the hobby today. While they were in 2025 Donruss Football using foil stock, they’re back in Optic, this time with chrome. 

The fun illustrated backgrounds remain the standout feature—alongside their rarity. 

In addition to standard Downtown cards, there are Duals that pair up two players and Legends.

Rated Rookie RPS Autographs

Take the familiarity of Rated Rookies, give them a signature twist and use the key first-year standouts and you have Rated Rookie RPS Autographs.

Not only do these feature top players, but signatures for these are on-card. 

Like the standard cards, there are several parallels to hunt for with these as well.
