2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball: The Most Memorable Memorabilia

When the word ‘dynasty’ is thrown around, particularly in sports, it represents greatness and prominence, leadership and dominance. Pittsburgh’s Steel Curtain, the Lakers’ Showtime Era, Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers, Michael Jordan and the Bulls, the Yankees’ Core Four — all are runs that will live on and be passed down for generations. 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball aims to do its part when it comes to sports cards.

No matter the player or even the year, from a greatness standpoint, Dynasty cards are hard to top. Since the first Topps Dynasty Baseball release in 2014, no card has a print run higher than 10 copies. Autographs are all on-card unless they're cuts. As for those cuts? They’re a potent mix of Hall of Famers and legends.

Relics round out the trinity of tantilization. And this might just be the piece that makes Dynasty Dynasty, particularly the 2024 edition, which may just have the largest assortment of gear yet.

Here are some of the main memorabilia features that make most cards on the 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball look and feel unique, even when they’re not 1/1s.

MLB Logo Patch

Basketball has its logoman, football and hockey have their shields. This is baseball’s equivalent. Jerseys and pants have just one MLB logo patch. Compare that to the number of standard relic swatches that each uniform piece can create.

The MLB logo also fits nicely on a card. It’s small enough to incorporate other elements like a prominent player photo. But that silhouetted batter also offers plenty of pop, projecting an aura of cardboard greatness.

The fact that they’re all 1/1 ensures that each truly is unique.

Shohei Ohtani, Paul Skenes, Aaron Judge, Mike Trout and Mookie Betts are among the 72 players on the 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball checklist with Autographed MLB Logo Patch cards.

Sponsor Patches

Say what you will about ads belonging on jerseys, but the sleeve patches add another logo level. Many of these brands are engrained in our minds. A Kroger Elly De La Cruz with the little shopping cart, a Jung Hoo Lee with a piece of Chevrolet patch for the car lover — these bring in some different swatch combinations that haven’t been on many baseball cards yet.

A total of 28 players have Dynasty Sponsor Patch Autographs. Base versions are /5 with 1/1 Gold parallels also on the checklist.

Special Event and Game-Dated Patches and Baseballs

Knowing a piece of memorabilia has seen some game use is one thing. Swatches from specific events help tell a deeper story. It’s not just the player, but there’s a time factor that’s added. 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball has a few autographed memorabilia offerings that come from special games like international series.

First up are two Special Event Autographed Patch cards. Both feature Paul Goldschmidt. Base versions have five copies with additional 1/1 Gold parallels also in the mix.

Autographed Special Event Baseball Leather cards take a similar approach, only with pieces of balls. The checklist has just over 30 players with each card /5. Gold variations are 1/1.

The Special Event cards help trace things to a window. On This Day Autographed Patch cards bring another layer. The relics on these come with MLB Authentication. The hologram on these includes a code that allows anyone to trace the exact game and date it’s from. Again, storytelling on baseball cards and making memorabilia even more memorable. Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr. and Bryce Harper are some of the 18 superstars featured. Like the Special Event cards, print runs are /5 with 1/1 Gold parallels.

Batting Gloves

Jerseys and pants are on the large side. That means there’s plenty to go around when they’re transformed into memorabilia cards. Batting gloves — not so much. Not only are they much smaller but the designs make for some unique pieces simply based on the stitching and lines. More than 20 players, past and present, have such cards in 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball including Shohei Ohtani, Derek Jeter and Ronald Acuña Jr.

Standard versions are /5. Parallels get specific in what part of the glove they’re from. Both Wrist Strap and Jumbo Brand Logo Variations are 1/1.

Autographed Patches

Even the regular autographed patch cards in 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball look great. They may not stand out quite as much as some of the special chase hits in the product, but put them up against 99.5% of the year’s other baseball cards and they’re going to stand out. With large patch windows, you can often make out whether a piece is from a jersey number, letter or logo. They’re distinct in that regard, connecting a specific part of the gear to the card, or a close proximity.
